Updates on my RE Flash...

Posted by Helbereth - October 12th, 2009

Well, as it turns out I didn't quite have the attention span to work on my RE Flash much over the past few months. It's not dead, however. I have a complete script outline and storyboard complete along with numerous backgrounds, models and other niceties worked out.

I've been somewhat limited by a fussy digital camera that only works when it feels like it - making translation of hand-drawn images somewhat difficult. But, no matter. I don't think I'll make my Halloween timeframe, but I'm going to aim for Christmas.

As a side note, I've also been looking at the work I'd done on the 'Freedom' project. I'm starting to redo the script for it and I've started researching for some more appropriate music. I don't expect anything to come of it until next year, though. I plan for it to be a very 'noir' kind of film, and I plan to make use of heavily contrasted imagery for 'dream' sequences. If I were to describe the concept it would be 'Silent Hill meets Silence of the Lambs in the Twilight Zone on an episode of X-Files'.

Other than that, I'm happy to say my WoW addiction has weakened. I'm only playing 15-20 hours a week, where I used to play closer to 40.

Oh, I should also note that I've got the title worked out for my RE Flash - "Resident Evil: Left Behind". All I have is a production poster this time, though.

that dude has tits

That n***a with the guns is wearing lipgloss....

The one on the left is a woman, right? If she is, you should probably draw her with more of an hourglass figure and perhaps draw the face a bit more feminine.
If he isn't you should lose the titties and draw him in a more manly pose.

Wow that's really homo drawing a guy as a women.

WTF IS THAT A TRANNY

Upon review, I've gone back and made adjustments to the original image of Claire in the foreground - which hasn't been altered in over a year.

It was an animated movie clip of her walking straight at the camera built with numerous tweens that had to be painstakingly adjusted so it would run smoothly - which made adjusting the image a real pain in the ass, thanks.

I would recommend getting a tablet if you don't already have one, dude. Even though I think highly of your drawing skills, there is always room for improvement.

Normally, this is the point where I would intervene, being blood-related, and harangue the lot of you for thinking that Claire Redfield became a transvestite (seriously, Mr. Chamber... are you trying to discourage this guy?).

But I'm not that kind of jerk. You can keep pissing as you please.

Actually, I have a tablet... and even an old but serviceable scanner that will be hooked up very soon. Helbereth, however, has this violent disregard and even distaste for tablets because he's worked with mice on drawings for so long that the tablet option doesn't really appeal to him. It does to me, of course (being left-handed).

As for personal comments to Helbereth, the Freedom Trailer has been in my head for years. I'd like to see what you wrote in terms of script. The RE Flash is a cakewalk compared to forming an alchemy between everyone and his brother, The Outer Limits, but I have no qualms about an original project at all.

Our deadline might be reached if we cut a deal about who draws what, lessen the pressure off one guy. Hopefully a hard knock or three will get the kinks out of this allegedly kinky depiction of Claire Redfield before releasing the first episode. Maybe her hips weren't pronounced enough? Or, maybe it's the shoulders throwing people off. The nose is also far too pronounced to be considered feminine.

I suppose you're only trying to help. We can assume that. Still, if you're just being a bunch of rodents, let me say this: you can piss into the air for now, but if you keep pissing once we've shifted the winds toward you, well....

Happy pissing,

Neo Ronin

Uh... I take no responsibility for his comments.

Now it looks better. :D

And MAN did I sound like an asshole in that last comment. Sorry about that... ;-(

Meh. I'd lost sight of the images themselves a bit. I don't think it was as bad as the comments would have lead someone to believe - it lacked charicature exaggeration, but was still feminine - the truth is I had become complacent. The original poster tried to toss a helicopter in place of the Claire running shot - which makes much more sense.

In closing, it's all good.
